The festival Prague Spring is a regular presentation of excellent word masters, symphonic orchesters and chamber ensembles. The festival starts on the 12th of May each year (Bedrich Smetana death anniversary), and it lasts until the beginning of June. Since 1952, the festival opens every year with Smetana's symphony Ma Vlast (My Country) and closes with Beethoven's 9th Symphony (Ode to Joy). The orchestras participating in the festival are both from Czech republic and abroad, such as Berlin Philharmonic, English Baroque Soloists, Czech Philharmonic, Musica Florea, Barocco sempre giovane, Il Giardino Armonico and others. Besides classical music there have been some concerts of Jazz music included to the program in the recent years as well.

68th internation music festival will be focused on french music. Smetana's symphony My Country will be performed by Philharmonic orchestra of the French radio with Canadian Peter Oundjian as conductor.
